FAQ

Is this HIPAA compliant?

Default tier processes through Hetzner Helsinki (EU-jurisdiction). For HIPAA-covered work we offer a private-tier deployment on US-based infrastructure with signed BAA, 24-hour audio/document retention, and encrypted-at-rest storage. Email hello@lessrec.com with "BAA" in the subject for the private-tier intro.

What kinds of forms work?

Patient intake, insurance verification, allergy/medication lists, consent forms, custody/guardianship paperwork, vaccination records, school physicals, sports clearance forms, prior-authorization requests. Anything single-page handwritten or typed where the goal is to extract structured fields.

What about the EHR — does it integrate?

Not yet, intentionally. Direct EHR integration adds 6-12 months of HIPAA-compliance work and your IT will hate adding another vendor. Today we deliver a clean .docx; staff copies into their EHR. Most clinics find this faster than they expected. EHR-direct integration is on the roadmap for 2027.

What if our handwriting is messy?

Whisper-class vision models handle messy handwriting better than off-the-shelf OCR (ABBYY, Adobe). For genuinely illegible handwriting we mark the field "[unclear]" and let your staff verify against the original. The free 5-form pilot lets you test on your actual forms first.

How does the pilot work?

Email us 5 real intake form photos (PHI redacted is fine — we just need to verify the layout works). We process them, send back .docx output, you decide if it's worth $1,500/month. No commitment, no card, no signup.

Can multiple staff use one account?

Yes — up to 10 staff on the standard plan. Each sends to the same Telegram bot or web upload portal. We log activity per user so you can see usage.

Spanish forms?

English and Spanish supported. Spanish accuracy is ~93-95% on clean handwriting. Other languages on request.

What if our clinic is too small for $1,500/mo?
